Meet the founder of 'The Mentally Tough Skater'

Shannon Peck, M.S., CSPC, was a competitive figure skater for 10 years in her youth, competing regionally through the Junior Ladies division. She has toured with many Ice shows such as Disney on Ice, Rick Porter Productions, Ice Capades, Sea World, and Holiday on Ice as a principal performer. She holds a Masters of Science degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and studied team processes in her Thesis. She looked at the effects of collective interdependence efficacy on the difficulty of goal choice and performance levels in teams.  She has been a competitive skating coach for over 20 years, preparing many skaters for regional and national competitions in singles and synchronized skating. She has been a certified trainer for the Positive Coaching Alliance, and also holds a certification as a Sports Psychology Coach. She has trained many individual athletes, athletic teams, skating teams, coaches, and parents in mental toughness techniques. She is the founder of 'Mentally Tough Skaters', an organization devoted to improving performance outcomes for individual figure skaters and synchronized skating teams. She is located in San Diego, CA.
